Karl Smith
McLeod Browne was established in 2008, when its founder, Karl Smith, decided to set up a financial planning practice committed to service and not to sales.
Increasingly frustrated in an industry which, at that time, seemed to promote a sales-driven culture, where advisers were remunerated by large upfront commissions, he decided to create a distinctly different business - one in which the client is central to the offering, with all fees agreed on in advance and separated from the sale of products.
Today, McLeod Browne focuses on providing expert advice, drawing on more than 14 years' work in professional practices, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning. Karl is a Certified Financial PlannerCM professional, an IMC member of CFA UK and Associate of The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) - professional designations which prove his commitment to excellence.
