How much risk do we need to take?
Recently retired, we had accumulated several investments and were looking for someone to help us to make sense of them all and to develop a strategy which would serve us through our retirement.
We first met Karl when my wife and I took advantage of a free consultation session, offered by McLeod Browne, on retirement-planning.
At that meeting, Karl was friendly, yet professional. He outlined his philosophy on retirement-planning in a straightforward and understandable way. In fact, when talking about our finances, the term ‘bucket fund’ is now regularly used around our house.
We were very impressed with Karl, at this introductory meeting, and liked his approach so much that we decided to proceed.
Before our next meeting, we had to complete a couple of detailed questionnaires and an online risk profile. During this process, Karl was always available to answer our questions.
At our next meeting, the completed questionnaires and risk-assessment profile were discussed and analysed in detail. As with the first meeting, Karl was extremely professional and down to earth, with the advice given being sound and realistic.
Following this meeting, Karl produced a detailed, fully comprehensive and well-presented financial plan for us. We were offered another meeting to discuss the final plan, but felt this to be unnecessary, owing to the completeness of the document.
On a personal level, my wife and I are indebted to Karl for his time and total professionalism in providing us with a more secure financial retirement than we would have enjoyed. McLeod Browne’s charges for this were not exorbitant and well worth every penny. David and Maureen Rushen
